What we collect, and what we do with it.

Three forms on this site ask you for information. This page says exactly what each one takes, where it goes, how long we keep it and how to have it deleted. No paragraph here describes anything we do not actually do.

Who we are. Comservices, A-73, Group Industrial Area, Wazirpur (Ashok Vihar), Delhi 110052, India. We trade as BookPrint.in. For anything on this page, write to [email protected] or call +91 98110 52767.

The quote calculator

When you ask for an estimate at /quote we record your email address, the specification you entered (trim size, binding, page count, colour pages, number of copies), the price we calculated, and the IP address the request came from. The estimate is emailed to you, and a copy is emailed to our office so somebody can follow it up.

We keep it because a quote is the start of a conversation: when you reply with your files, we need to know what we quoted you and at what price.

The contact form

At /contact we record your name, email address, mobile number and your message. It is stored and also emailed to our office. We use it to reply to you.

The feedback form

At /feedback we record your name; if you give them, your role, organisation and the title of your book; your email address, your rating, what you wrote, any logo or photograph you attach, and the IP address the submission came from.

Your email address is not published. It is there so we can reach you about what you wrote.

Nothing you send is published automatically. Every submission waits for a person here to approve it, and it cannot be approved at all unless you ticked the box giving permission. If you change your mind, tell us and we will take it down — you do not have to give a reason.

Cookies and other companies

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google your IP address, roughly where you are, and which pages you looked at. When you submit the quote form we also record that a quote was requested, along with the specification — binding, size, page count, number of copies and the price. Your email address is never sent to Google, and neither is your name or your phone number. We use this to know whether the site is doing its job, not to identify you.

Google reCAPTCHA. The quote and feedback forms use reCAPTCHA to keep automated spam out. Google receives your IP address and information about how you interacted with the page, and sets its own cookies. Without it, the forms fill with junk. It is covered by Google’s privacy policy.

Google Fonts. The typefaces on this site are served by Google, so your browser fetches them from Google and Google sees your IP address when it does. No cookie is set for this.

Cloudflare. The site is served through Cloudflare, which sits between you and our server to make pages load faster and absorb attacks. It processes your IP address and may set a cookie to tell real visitors from bots. Cloudflare also adds a small script of its own to each page that counts page views for us. It does not use cookies and does not follow you between websites.

Our server logs. Like every web server, ours records the address each request came from, the page asked for, the time, and your browser’s user-agent string. These are kept by our hosting provider for a short period and used for diagnosing faults and abuse.

How long we keep things

  • Quote requests: three years. Customers come back for reprints, and the original specification is what makes that conversation quick.
  • Contact messages: three years.
  • Published feedback: for as long as it is on the site, or until you ask us to take it down.
  • Feedback we did not publish: removed within a year.

Ask us to delete something sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it — an invoice for work we actually did, for instance, has to be kept for tax.

Who else sees it

Nobody, in the sense that matters: we do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not send marketing to people who asked for a quote. It is seen by the people here who handle your job, it sits on our hosting provider’s servers in the ordinary course of the site working, and it passes through the companies named above. That is the whole list.

What you can ask for

Whatever you want to ask about your own data, the answer here is yes. You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw permission for a testimonial. Write to [email protected] and we will act within thirty days.

If you are in India, these rights sit under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. If you are in the EU or the UK, the GDPR gives you the same rights and a few more, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Keeping it safe

The site is served over HTTPS, the admin area is behind a password, and uploaded images are checked and stored where they cannot be executed. No website is perfectly secure and we will not pretend otherwise; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.

Children

This is a site for people commissioning printing. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change how any of this works, we will change this page and move the date below.
